PROJECT

Homelab / cyberdeck

A self-hosted Linux home server — own the tech instead of renting it.

An instrument grid with a faint signal trace

A self-hosted Linux home server. The motivation is simple: own the tech instead of renting it — keep my data and services under my own roof.

Planned services

  • Immich — photo backup and library.
  • Nextcloud — files and sync.
  • Vaultwarden — password vault.
  • Tailscale — private mesh access to all of it from anywhere.

Approach

TODO(JP): hardware (what the server actually is), OS/distro, and how you’re running the services (bare, Docker, etc.).

What broke / what I learned

TODO(JP): networking, storage, backups, remote access — add the real snags.

Next

TODO(JP): which service you’re bringing up next and why.
