Embedded reverse-engineering: disposable vape teardown

Reverse-engineering a battery-protection circuit as an embedded-systems learning exercise.

An instrument grid with a faint signal trace

Disposable vapes are small, cheap, mass-produced embedded systems that people throw away. I tore one down and reverse-engineered its battery-protection circuit purely as a learning exercise — a cheap way to practice reading real hardware.

Why

The skills transfer directly to StrideSense: reading a board, tracing a protection circuit, and reasoning about a small battery-powered device are exactly what a wearable needs.

Approach

TODO(JP): how you traced the circuit (multimeter, visual, datasheet matching) and what the protection circuit actually did.

What I learned

TODO(JP): the concrete takeaways you carried into StrideSense.
